Puxton Park provided a fantastic afternoon for us all, and I'm sure we'll return in years to come.
After our picnic lunch near the sand "construction" play area and tractor rides, we went to a falconry show. The birds of prey are always fascinating, especially when you can get so close and personal with them.
This was an African eagle, and below was an adorable American owl.
What family day out would be complete without ice cream? We were happy for nice weather in which to enjoy a cold treat. It was sunny and beautiful, a really stunning day.
Workers brought out chickens, a rabbit and a guinea pig for the children to pet, in a big room with all of the above animals, plus just-hatched chicks and ducklings.
We were all very interested in the milking demonstration, too. Fascinating to watch the cows line up and go in, one at a time, for their five-minute turn hooked up to the milking apparatus.
After being milked, the cows headed down to the barn for a snack. The girls found it a bit smelly.
We then did a maze, bounced on trampolines and took another look at the birds of prey. It was a great day out together and the children really enjoyed it.
