Sunday was the big day, the celebration in England of Stacey's 40th birthday with our close friends and family. Here, Stace is giving his speech thanking everyone for coming out, and for supporting him over these last 10 years that he's lived in California.
Here is Gord's mum, sister Doreen and brother-in-law Pete.Cora had a great time playing with all the children, especially Dunc and Lindsey's daughter Chelsea. She asked for us to arrange a playdate a half-dozen times over the course of our lunch. We were so proud of Cora and Violet; they were friendly and brilliantly behaved.
We were a group nearly 30 people strong - thanks so much to Sue and Gord for putting on a great party for us all.
Saturday marked 10 years for Stace in America - hard to believe in a way! I'm so thankful for the sacrifices he (and his family) has made. Come September, we will celebrate our 10th anniversary. Wow.
Here's cousin Ben, photo-bombing the shot of Stace with Dunc, Lindsey and Connor, who just turned 12. He's a far cry from the 5-year-old who visited us back in 2007, and a very nice lad indeed.
Here we are with Andy and Jenny...
...and here's Stace and Dean with Gord's Uncle Brian and Auntie Pauline.
Here are Gord and Doreen's children and spouses - me, Stace, Wes, Jenny, Dean, Karen, Mandy and Martin, in height order.
Here's Stace with Dean and Jenny, who's expecting their second baby in two months' time. Exciting times!
Back and Sue and Gord's house, we enjoyed a small birthday cake.
