Going Out with a Luau!

Cora and her friends had an evening to remember Thursday, with a party at a local neighborhood clubhouse complete with a DJ, dance floor, photo booth and lots of food and sweets.

It was Hawaiian-themed - hence the leis and clothes the girls are wearing here.
We have a fantastic group of parents with this grade level. Everyone came together to make the room look amazing, and we had parents donate subs and pizzas from their businesses, DJ time and the photo booth.

Nonnie and her husband made this adorable tiki bar, and she blended and served (virgin!) pina coladas to all the kids.

Liz spearheaded the party planning, and she arranged for this undersea balloon backdrop.
This table was full of candy, next to a donut board. Yum!

The photo booth and prop area was a lot of fun for the kids. Cora got photos with all her friends, including Jake, at the end of the night, when it seemed like their classmates might not notice.

I had to get photos with my girl, too. And my mama girlfriends, later!

I think they were doing the slide here - DJs bring so much to a party besides music!
At the end of the night, when many of the kids had gone home, we mamas had fun on the dance floor, too. Always fun enjoying music with my girl!
Thanks to Nonnie for thinking to get this video clip of us, and the photo above.

While we were cleaning up, the kids enjoyed getting silly with helium.

It was a great party! Cora said she had a fabulous time. Now, it's really on to junior high!
