A Lovely Luau

Since it was our first family trip to Hawaii, we had to go to a luau. I think there's a federal law about it.

While we had some thoughts that it might be a little cheesy, we actually had a fabulous time.

It started with an open bar with mai tais - you can't go wrong with a start like that.

Then we had a hula lesson, ink tattoos, and a yummy buffet of island specialities.
Here, we're showing off our tattoos - dolphins, lizards and sea turtles.
After dinner, we enjoyed the luau show, which was a history of the Hawaiian islands told through dance and song. And fire.

After the luau was over, we went behind the hotel that hosted it and watched manta rays swimming just offshore. More amazing experiences!
