Riverside

On Saturday we went to visit Elizabeth and Jerry in Riverside for the first time since they moved down from Washington last summer.

They have a lovely townhome and we had a great visit with them; Jerry could go into business selling his homemade pizzas if the academia thing doesn't work out!

He and Stace went for a bike ride around the UC Riverside campus while Elizabeth and Cora made sugar cookies and paper snowflakes.

When it got dark, we went into downtown Riverside for the Festival of Lights Christmas celebration at the historic Mission Inn.

The lights were beautiful, and there was an ice-skating rink and reindeer to pet. My family met us out there, and we all had a nice time taking it all in and getting through the thousands of people gathered for the festivities.

Then, we were homeward bound, better appreciating the trek Elizabeth and Jerry have when they visit us. It's a good hour and a half without traffic, more like an hour-forty. Thanks for all the visits you two make to us!

Some of my family went to the Mission in earlier this month and loved it. Glad you got to enjoy!

I'll bet the girls were in awe of all the lights! That little marketplace area is a fun place any time of the year . . . someday when you are "flush" you need to go to Sevilla restaurant. OM Gosh!!! We can get you discount coupons, by the way -- E might, too. Great pictures! Aunt P
