Back to England

Here we are, all ready to check in for our flight back to Stacey's homeland and family on Sunday, a few days after school ended.
Our 7:45 p.m. departure was delayed a few hours, so we entertained ourselves with a game of catch. The flight was fine, but with such a late start, we ended up not sleeping much, and Stace and I had to take a late train back to Somerset on Monday.

Monday was spent traveling, and Tuesday was rainy and we spent much of the day napping.  But we wanted to do something Wednesday, so we took the girls to Exeter for the first time. Here's our initial view of the cathedral on a wet afternoon.
We had lunch at this sweet coffee shop.

The cathedral area is clearly ancient. Look at the size of this door.
I love how my girls appreciate the grandeur and beauty of the old churches in England, both the magnificent cathedrals like this, and the village churches.
Before we headed home, we got a coffee and pastry in Debenham's, overlooking the cathedral. What a view!
