Labor Day labor

On Sunday, the day before Labor Day, our church leaders decided we would do some labor out in the community.

People worked on projects all over Santa Clarita, and at the church, packaged up over 100,000 meals to send to Haiti.

We decided to help paint at Newhall Elementary School, one of the oldest in the Valley.

The handball courts were plain white, and we helped turn them into works of art. Well, something like that.

I helped mask, Stace masked and painted, and Cora painted. Violet stayed at church in the nursery, for the first time.

When I picked Violet up, she was sleeping in a swing and looked so sweet and comfy. Our baby swing is a small travel swing; maybe that's why she's never fallen in love with it.

Back at the school Violet enjoyed picking at the grass.

When we got home, the work continued, with Cora scrubbing down the garage door.
