Weekend Celebrations

On Friday, we went to Liz and Max's house for a graduation party for Chris, and, really, all the kids. These guys have been friends since elementary school, and Chris and Cora were in Mrs. Hawthorne's kindergarten class together.

Liz knows how to put on a great party. Besides this spread, there was a burger truck out front, cooking delicious food to order.
They played in the pool - Cora was excited for a winning move in the game they were playing.
We mamas put our feet in the hot tub later in the evening.

Here were all the recent graduates!

The kids also played Jackbox games in the house.

On Sunday, we celebrated Father's Day with hosting dinner for my parents. I gave both dads here a soap from Bubbs and Drizzle, the local family-owned shop.

On Sunday morning, our church had a display of some cool cars for the dads to admire.
Also Sunday, we realized our air conditioner wasn't working right. Uh oh.

Fabulous Friday

On Friday morning, it was Stace's turn to be serenaded by adorable kindergartners at the annual "Donuts with Dad" event.

The songs were actually the same as the ones sang for the moms, with *slightly* different wording.
The kids and dads had donuts and made a paper craft. Mrs. Hawthorne had prepared paper helicopters for the dads and kids to cut out and fold. They then went to the playground to fly them.
Stace said he loved his morning with his littlest girl.

I, meanwhile, had some of my mama friends over for a LuLaRoe clothing party. It was kind of like a Pampered Chef thing, except that you could try on the comfy and cute skirts, tops and dresses, and buy what was on hand from the consultant. It's an interesting business model, in which the items are only available from the consultants, rather than being available in stores or by mail order.

I found the brand at a similar party held by a friend last month, and am very happy with my purchases.
After school, we went to a birthday party for our friend Charlie. Patrice, Geoff, Emily, Charlie and Tommy have moved to a new house, and we loved seeing it and checking out their beautiful pool.

Super Dad

I knew when I got to know Stacey that he'd be a great father.

And he certainly is - attentive, hard-working, caring, kind and interested in all the girls do.

Our girls are so blessed to have Stace as their dad!
Our Father's Day gift to Stace was a Lego helicopter set. They had fun putting it together, with a little help from Lily and Owletta.
Cora wanted Stace to have a full-on Father's Day experience, so she decorated the house with homemade signs.

Happy Father's Day!

Our church is fun: bacon-wrapped hot dogs for the dads, plus this "photo studio," started off our morning.

Stacey's Father's Day was calm and relaxing, following our wild and crazy birthday party the day before. We spoke to Gord and Dean in England to wish them a happy one, and relaxed with an afternoon movie and evening pool time.
Cora was very excited to have bought Stace a gift - a Twix bar. We also will be going to the Petersen Auto Museum as a Father's Day treat for my car-loving hubby.

Such a fabulous, hands-on daddy our girls are blessed with!
Some Father's Day music...
