More Summer Fun

Cora and Violet were awarded tickets to Magic Mountain for reading, but the dates are limited and we'll be leaving next week for England. So, my mom and I took Violet on Wednesday after Cora's swim practice, once it had cooled off enough to walk around.

Unfortunately, Cora's tummy wasn't feeling up for rollercoasters, so she stayed home with Stace. But Violet didn't mind having the time with just me and Grandma (plus the girls are interested in and tall enough for  very different rides).
After the heat of the day, it was a gorgeous evening. I love our beautiful valley.
Violet went on Wonder Woman for the first time, a ride that spins very fast. Although I like roller coasters and can handle loops just fine, I can't do rides that simply spin. Thankfully, Violet is big enough to go by herself, and she loved it!
Grandma did the Wonder Woman arm sign, but Vi wasn't so sure. We also enjoyed Jet Stream, the swings and the Buccaneer.

We escaped the heat Thursday by heading to Ventura with friends. It was a beautiful beach day. Cora and Violet had fun with Kayla and her brother Cole, and Wyatt here and his brother, another Cole.

I had fun with my friends Nicole and Nicole - yes, both Nicoles have sons named Cole! And Sue and Sophia joined us later in the afternoon.

We got the kids back from the beach a bit late for swim team, but we did make it. After swim, Violet and I went to get pedicures. It was Violet's first time getting her nails done in a shop. (Cora didn't want to go - too girly.) We went back to Natural Nails, where I used to go when we lived in Newhall. Jenny, the salon owner, remembered my name! It was nice for her to meet Violet after all these years.
So pretty! Violet's choice was a very dark and sparkly red, though it looked a little black in photos.
