Summer weekend fun

We've been enjoying barbecues with friends the past few weeks.

Last weekend, we went to Daryl and Juliana's, and this past Friday, we dined at Colleen and Rigo's.

Violet enjoyed playing with Puma and King, Colleen and Rigo's kid-friendly dogs: "Here, Puma, it's for you."

Stace played some tunes on the guitar, and we toasted marshmallows on the fire. We think we'd like a fire pit of our own, now. It was the perfect end to a great evening of food and friends.

Earlier Friday, the girls and I did Stroller Strides at the mall, where Violet had fun at the kids' play area.

We spent Sunday at Hurricane Harbor, which was a birthday gift from my parents to Stace. My mom went with us, and helped with Violet while Stace and I rode a waterslide.

We had planned to go Saturday, and Cora had a swimming lesson beforehand. Unfortunately, she was very scared and uncooperative during her lesson. This was a huge turnaround from her last lesson, when she was brave and eager. We tried to encourage her, and I said she had to try to listen to her teacher if she was to go to Hurricane Harbor. This turned out to be a big mistake. Suffice to say, we didn't end up going Saturday. Thankfully, it worked well for us to go Sunday, and it was a great day out.
