random bits

Cora has now rolled from her back to her tummy! Twice in the past couple of days, I've put her on her back on a blanket on the floor and come back to find her on her stomach. Tonight, Stace did the same, and watched her turn over.
She is so social. This morning, after Stroller Strides, she was smiling and chatting to her friend Thomas, and reaching out to touch his hand and face. Later in the day, she was loving being around my friend Elisabeth's 3 1/2-year-old, Anna, and was giggling at everything Anna was saying.
We had a busy day today (Wednesday). First we had Stroller Strides, where Cora played with Thomas and Harvey (sons of my new friends Sarah and Elissa) and did a good amount of sitting up on the blanket on the grass when we were finished walking. There we had lunch with my work friends, as it was my friend Marissa's last day at the paper. She is heading off to Korea to teach English. I'll miss her! Cora did OK during lunch, and liked having all the attention on her. She requires a good amount of attention now, as she likes to be entertained with toys, or she starts grabbing for what's in front of her, whether it's good for her to have or not.
Then we went to visit Elisabeth, who also is getting ready for a big move. Her husband has accepted a position as children's ministry pastor with a church in Texas, so they will be moving in a couple of weeks. It was great to see my friends today but sad knowing they will both be gone so soon.
Cora and I then picked Stace up from work, as he has been riding his bike to work, but it's too hot to ride home. We're having one of those summer weeks where it's over 100 every day. (Time to go to the beach this weekend! The water should be warmed up nicely.) We then stopped on the way home to do some shopping for bike trailers, the type you use to tow your little ones behind you on your bike. Now that we know how much they go for, it's time to start scouring the Internet for a good deal.
In other news, I got my invitation to my 10-year high school reunion in the mail. Don't guess we'll be going - it's $100 per person!!! I'm a bit disappointed, because that makes the decision for us and I would have liked to be able to consider going a bit more. $200 for the two of us, for "dinner, music and dancing" with a cash bar. Crazy.
